RoboCup — KlodsHans v2

KlodsHans v2 was made with LEGO and controlled with LEGO Mindstorms EV3. The robot was equipped with additional sensors like PixyCam for line following and object recognition, and a Gyro for directional sensing.

KlodsHans v2 was the first robot to track lines and object by camera.

The PixyCam firmware is made to track colored objects only. Lines in RoboCup are white which required me to modify the firmware to track and return tracked line location. The modification worked reasonably well, but was not ideal.

PixyCam delivered a LEGO MindStorm component which made it quite easy to program the robot entirely with standard Visual MindStorms programming.
